I’m sharing a review from Amazon

When you are brought up not to brag about yourself, as I was, it is hard to jump up and down and thump your chest and say look at this. It’s about me. Well about the book I wrote and had published, Moving On, A Prairie Romance.

By Mary Claire Mahaney
As a reader from the United States, I was captivated not only with Annette Bower’s story and characters in “Moving On – A Prairie Romance,” but with her giving me the chance to learn: to visualize Saskatchewan, a place I’ve never visited, including the real town of Regina (rej-EYE-nah) Beach, an hour’s drive northwest of the province’s capital; to hear of a Hutterite colony (a pacific religious group) on the Saskatchewan prairie; to be urged to consult my atlas and locate the mysterious-sounding Last Mountain Lake, on which Regina Beach stands.

That the story is set in a beach town makes it perfect for reading this book this or any other summer, whether or not you’re lucky enough to read it in your beach chair. I had a hard time putting the book down–I wanted to know Anna’s secrets just as much as Nick did–and I would have happily spent an entire summer’s day with nothing to do but read this book. Bower excels at erotic foreshadowing, and her turns of phrase prime the pump (sorry!) for the thrusts and parries at romance between Anna and Nick. And the best thing: there’s conflict at every turn.

If you’re reading this review in the dead of winter, enjoy the book from the warmth and comfort of your upholstered armchair and try to imagine just how cold it is on the Saskatchewan prairie and how Anna might be staying warm!

Thank you so much Mary Claire Mahaney. http://www.law.uc.edu/sites/default/files/OsakaHeatWinseLitAwards-eBookPressRelease.pdf

Today Moving On, A Prairie Romance is being blasted

In May Brenda Novak holds an online auction to raise funds for diabetes. There are many great donations for readers, writers and people who want to bid on various things. One of the events in the auction was an e blast of a book by Shades Of Romance or SOR. I won the opportunity to have Moving On, A Prairie Romance advertised to the thousands of people who follow the site.
So support SOR and read a little more about Moving On, A Prairie Romance. Here is the link:

Moving On-A Prairie Romance

Is entered into another contest

On March 28, I entered Moving On-A Prairie Romance into the Internation Rubery Book Award: http://www.ruberybookaward.com . The judges aim for three months after the close of the contest. This may be next week around June 30th. I know they post a long and short list at some point too as there is one on the web site from last year.
And yesterday I entered the cover designed by Kayden McLeod into the Ariana eBook Cover competition: http://epicorg.com/competitions/ariana-ebook-cover-art-awards.html Everyone comments that my cover is compelling. “The finalists will be posted on EPIC’s website (www.epicorg.com) and the ARIANA™ will be presented at EPIC’s Awards Banquet at EPICon™.”

And today I entered the novel into the EPIC eBook Awards. “EPIC’s eBook Awards™, formerly known as EPPIE, began in 2000 to recognize excellence in ePublished works. The eBook Awards are open to all electronically published works: novels, graphic novels, short stories, non-fiction, and poetry.”
http://epicorg.com/competitions/epics-ebook-awards.html Contest closes on July 15th.

The Elsie Shirley Gallery was the perfect place for a reading

Love, Loss and Other Oddities: Tales from Saskatchewan

This book is now available in the Regina Beach Public Library

Reading at Elsie Shirley Gallery, Regina Beach, SK

Karyn Good and I read from our novels. Eunice Cameron introduced Karyn Good www.karyngood.com who read two exciting scenes from her book Backlash. Eunice introduced me next and I read from chapter 1 of Moving On A Prairie Romance.
We had a draw and Karyn’s book was won by Janey while my book was won by Duana. We hope both of them enjoy their reads.
The audience was supportive and friendly and asked many questions. I estimate that two of the audience used e readers regularly. One audience member used an i Pad, while two others read on their computers. The rest of the audience is still coming to grips with the idea of electronic publishing.
While Karyn Good’s book Backlash will be available print on demand, and therefore a traditional book can be purchased but her book will also be available in many places on electronic sites.
My book, Moving On A Prairie Romance is not available in traditional print. I wish it could be only because many of my friends and supporters continue to read in print and are not ready to move into the e reader. But perhaps when they are the book will continue to be available.
I have approached South East Regional Library about including a copy of my novel in their lending library. I have not have a response to date.

Karyn Good and I donated a copy of Love, Loss and Other Oddities: Tales from Saskatchewan to the Regina Beach Library.
