The day in the life of a reader on a vacation

I’m away on vacation in the Andalucia & Costa Del Sol in Spain. One day while in Benalmadena, walking on Avd Antonio Machado I came across a charity store which helps raise funds for people with disabilities in Benalmadena. I saw this book by one of my favorite authors, Mary Balogh and if you have been following her series, she writes about characters who were injured in the war and rehabilitate within the limitations of their injuries. In this book with Simply Love.

One of my favorite authors, Mary Balogh.

I purchased the book for 1 Euro and brought it home. What follows is the reading Simply Love.

Here is how you can help another author reach Amazon #1

Here is a letter from a fellow Saskatchewan Romance Author. She has freebies but you have to act today, August 2, 2012:
Hello everyone,

My Fellow Writer, Joanne Brothwell, is celebrating the official launch of her book series “STEALING BREATH” in a big, BIG way. And she’s giving away freebies for everyone!

She has set a crazy ambitious goal for herself and her book, STEALING BREATH. On the full moon, August 2nd, she is hoping to reach the #1 Amazon.com Bestseller, and she would love for you to help.

With her book’s original folklore and unique paranormal elements, the STEALING BREATH series thrills and entertains. “I loved the Native American folklore that was woven throughout this story. The legends of the Skinwalkers and of the dark magic was hauntingly intriguing and I was sucked in right away.” –Paranormal Wasteland Reviews

But first, people need to know about her book. That’s why she needs your help.

I’m hoping that you will be a supporter of Joanne’s authorial endeavours, and on the Full Moon, August 2nd, you will purchase STEALING BREATH ($7.99 Kindle, $14.99 Paperback) from Amazon.com.

In thanks for your efforts, Joanne will also be giving away the following freebies: free e-book of the prequel novella, Vicarious (published by Crescent Moon Press), plus Skinwalker Lore (explanation of the Navajo legends), The Indigo Children (a guidebook to the New Age concept), and Malandanti Incantations from the Key of Solomon (a Malandanti spellbook). These freebies will be immediately sent with proof of purchase through her website Contact Form: http://www.joannebrothwell.com/contact.html
You will get four free reads, plus you’ll be introduced to a great new book, which people are raving about, Joanne’s book goes to #1 on Amazon, and – a side benefit – a Canadian author is put on the map for a change.

STEALING BREATH is perfect for anyone who loved Twilight, but with no sparkly vampires! It’s a perfect gift for Birthdays, Mother’s Day or Christmas for anyone 16 years old and up.

On August 2nd, the New Moon, let’s help make Joanne’s dream come true, and blast a Canadian author right to the top of Amazon’s charts. Remember, for this crazy goal to be reached, purchases must be all on the same day, August 2nd, otherwise, the book will not go Bestseller.

Here’s what people are saying about Stealing Breath:

“I particularly enjoyed the many scenes that held me entranced in their gothic eeriness. That creepiness was entwined masterfully within the descriptive passages.”
-Night Owl Reviews

“STEALING BREATH stole mine! Compulsive, scary suspense balanced with
a tender love story.”
-Mary Balogh, New York Times Bestselling Author

“This is actually only the second story I’ve read that had Skinwalkers as the supernatural element, so it’s a new and interesting element to use. I love the use of folklore in Stealing Breath. It gives a richness to the story and gives us some insight into the Native American and Italian cultures.”
-Zodiac Book Reviews

“I liked the character development, the fresh elements of the supernatural and Ms. Brothwell’s easily read style. She has one of those voices that reads like someone is talking or even like a movie. Highly palatable and I’m curious if there will be more from this author.”
-HK Savage, author/publisher Staccato Publishing

“This was an amazing story! I loved every page. One thing that drew me in was how Ms. Brothwell was just so descriptive. She has a beautiful writing style, very impressive.”
-For the Love of Film and Novels

“I really enjoyed this book… I love how it pulls together old fairy tales and has a type of SyFy Lost Girl feel to it. The heroine is strong, and the hero is sexy. The story is solid, and it sucked me in, and I want the next book!”
-Reader

“Thanks for helping me find my way away from the vampire phase and into something fresh and new!”

Today is the 4th day of my second week of VBT. It is also the second last day. And it is my birthday.

My second to last day on this tour, come on over.

Hello Everyone,
I’m treating myself to a slow day.

However I am over at My World of Dreams with Judy.
http://www.jhthomas.blogspot.com

She asked me to talk about five things that “you” would never guess about me.
I think I am an open person so I didn’t think there were five things no one knew about me. But there may be one of two things that some readers may not know about me. So after much deliberation I did talk about me and Moving On-A Prairie Romance.

However a commenter, Mary Balogh did give me a gift when she shared something about herself.

So if you know more than you ever care to know right now because you’ve been following me, learn a snippet about Mary.

Yesterday I posted all of the links to my road trip to date because there is still time to make a quick comment, and have an entry into the $25.00 gift certificate to All Romance E Books. You can comment at every stop. Just go directly to comments.

Twenty comments on the First Day of my tour

I woke up and brought my coffee to the desk little realizing that I wouldn’t leave for a while because I had comments and visitors. Wow!

Three comments I’d like to share from readers who have read Moving On-A Prairie Romance:
1. Mary Balogh Apr 30, 2012 11:02 AM
I can assure would-be readers that Annette’s book really is a good one. It is not a traditional romance. It is more what I would call a love story. The relationship between the hero and heroine develops slowly and sweetly and believably, and in the process we come to know them and care for them as persons. The background of Regina Beach and its inhabitants adds a richness of atmosphere that is often lacking in fiction. Give it a try! Mary Balogh

Annette, your lovely way with description makes Regina Beach a character in it’s own right. I love small town setting!

3. Leeann Minogue Apr 30, 2012 01:08 PM
This is a great book, with a great Saskatchewan setting. Read it.

And now I must go to sleep because tomorrow’s stop is just hours away.
